About the event

The problem? You have something to say but are too ashamed to say it. So you remain silent. But silence doesn’t protect you.

“Story vs. Testimony: A Guilt, Shame, & Storytelling Workshop” is a creativity and healing workshop, re-storying our shame-based experiences, packaging them into a narrative that can be shared with an audience hungry for uncomfortable truths.

(NOTE: This is a pre-memoir workshop. All are welcome.)

DAY 1 (Sep. 17) - Guilt vs. shame - what is the difference?

DAY 2  (Sep. 18) - Short film - “Drowning My Shame”

DAY 3  (Sep. 19) - Writing exercises

Benefits/outcomes? Sis, lift your head. You’re not the only one. You’re not alone. One full story will be crafted in the workshop.

Why me?  I am an artistic theologian and cartographer of the inner life. Since no one likes a naked truth, I, therefore, have become truth’s stylist - dressing it in stories that fit each occasion.

Principles - truth, patience, self-love, beginning again, creativity, kindness, self-compassion
